We have a herd of pedigree Montbeliarde cows, which graze clover- rich fields and we do not use artificial fertiliser. We rear our own heifers and are a closed herd, apart from a Hereford stock bull purchase. The cows are loose housed on straw bedding in the winter months, and fed grass silage, stock feed potatoes, molasses and cow cake at milking time. No routine antibiotics used.
